California Schools to Watch is a statewide program implemented by the California League of Middle Schools, California Department of Education, California Middle Grades Alliance, National Forum, and the California Schools to Watch model schools.

Replicable Practices
Campus Culture Teams: school is divided into 4 teams (based on period 7) & compete for quarterly prizes and at rallies by earning points for grades, attendance, school spirit, activity participation, etc.
T-Bird of the Month: monthly student recognition where staff nominate students based on their behavior and students receive a certificate and parents and student attend T-Bird of the Month breakfast.
NEST: Tier 1 Intervention classroom for behavior and social-emotional needs where interventions happen; teachers refer students to NEST for behavior or social-emotional needs.
Morning Announcements: given by students & include ""shout outs"" that students submit for teachers or students, joke of the day, inspirational quote of the day, etc.
Schoolwide Behavior Expectations & Classroom Behavior Expectations taught along with student handbook in classrooms on first day of school and then first day back of second semester.
