Replicable Practices

  • Data Driven Instruction: In collaboration with Parsec Education, TVCS is focused on improving instruction through the ongoing evaluation of standards-based curriculum and assessments. with the goal to analyze multiple sources of data to inform and refine teacher instructional practices both individually and collaboratively.

  • Embedded Interventions: math and English support classes are embedded within the school day to provide daily RTI opportunities and groups are informed by curriculum-based benchmark data and refined through ongoing formative assessments, ensuring that intervention remains responsive and aligned to student proficiency levels.

  • Visual and Performing Arts Programs: Consistent with our mission statement which states“we want to empower students to become confident, capable leaders and compassionate, innovative citizens through a culture of academic excellence, creativity, and character"", our visual and performing arts programs are designed to help learning discover their passions, while helping them develop critical thinking  and leadership skills.

  • Enrichment Programs: At TVCS, our enrichment opportunities are designed to bring our mission to life by uniting academic excellence with creative exploration and include courses such as Painting and Clay Lab, Spanish, Sensory Science, Folk and Cultural Art, Introduction to Guitar, Culinary Arts, and Italian which allow students to discover new passions, strengthen critical thinking skills, and express themselves in innovative ways.

  • Family & Community Engagement: TVCS has a robust parent volunteer program (80% of parents are certified volunteers) and similar to the way in which we capture and build student strengths and talents we ask parents to serve as chaperones, guest speakers, teach enrichment classes, plan events and volunteer in the classroom.
