California Schools to Watch is a statewide program implemented by the California League of Middle Schools, California Department of Education, California Middle Grades Alliance, National Forum, and the California Schools to Watch model schools.

Replicable Practices
Professional Learning Communities: Facilitate ongoing collaboration and improvement among educators to enhance student learning that is around common formative assessments and based on student achievement data.
Co-Teach Classes for Math and ELA: Support Special Education learners by pairing general and special education teachers in the classroom to deliver inclusive and effective instruction.
After-School Enrichment and Co-Curricular Opportunities: Offer students additional learning experiences and engagement through various after-school programs (E-sports, crafts, etc) and year-long athletic programs.
Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Opportunities: Provide students with creative outlets and artistic expression through comprehensive arts education in dance, choir, orchestra, and band. Three different levels offered in each program, beginning, intermediate, and advanced.
Response to Intervention (RTI): Utilized during Academic Lunch Lab, After School Intervention, and within grade-level teacher teams in deployment model during instructional time to provide targeted support and ensure academic mastery.
Targeted and Tiered Intervention Teams:
Tier 1 - Culture and Climate: Focus on fostering a positive school environment through monthly meetings.
Tier 2 - Weekly Meetings: Address specific student needs and monitor progress with more frequent interventions.
Tier 3 - Bi-Weekly Meetings: Provide intensive support and strategic interventions for students requiring additional assistance.
