Purpose & Engagement – Foster learning environments that intrinsically motivate students, ensuring a positive culture of high expectations through behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement.
Behavioral Engagement – Establish clear social and academic expectations, use proactive strategies like pre-correction, keep students on task, and encourage peer communication.
Higher-Order Thinking – Promote rigorous instruction through varied questioning, student perseverance, metacognition (reflection), and problem-based learning.
Formative Assessment – Regularly monitor student learning by setting clear learning intentions, using success criteria, collecting evidence, and providing constructive feedback.
Student-Centered Learning – Encourage active student participation, collaboration, curiosity, and self-reflection to deepen understanding and engagement in learning.
